Alte Bekannte - old acquaintance

About two weeks ago I received a comment on a photo on Flickr, which is published there for more than five years now. The picture is of a unit for an extraordinary model by Mio Tsugawa and I used to visit her homepage on a regular basis these days. Some time later she had to shut down her site due to unknown circumstances and I lost track of her work. Now it was this very comment that did not only provide a new link for the instruction of the "Marguerite" (the model mentioned above), but also for the new homepage of the Japanese artist. The site Origamio.com is existing for several years now, so shame on me for not discovering it earlier. Nevertheless it was a good reason to have a closer look and see what's new.

While browsing the homepage I found some new instructions and was mostly insoired by the model "Parallel Zabuton". It is quite simple but you have to glue the pieces together as there are no pockets and flaps. Some of you can imagine that I was eager to find a way to fold and assemble the model without using glue. In the end it only took me two attempts until I succeeded with a slightly changed version of the windmillbase. Also the rectangular variation can be made with this technique.

  2. I like your version more not only because of no-glue, but because the flaps are thicker and hence the structure is more seen.
